EU new cars – definition and explanation

What is a new EU car? A new EU vehicle, also known as a new EU vehicle or EU vehicle, is a vehicle that was originally produced for the sales company in another EU country and is now available for sale in Germany. Sometimes there is also talk of a “re-import”. This terminology is based on the fact that a car produced in Germany was first exported to another country and then imported back to Germany.

What is a daily admission? For some EU vehicles, a daily registration in the respective country of origin is necessary. The daily registration only means that the vehicle has been registered for one day and then deregistered again in order to be included in the registration statistics in the country of origin for reasons of sales policy and thus to meet sales targets – however, the vehicle is not driven despite registration.

Why are there new EU cars? There is a very simple answer to this: because some vehicles are offered significantly cheaper in other EU countries and can still be offered with a price advantage compared to German vehicles after an import in Germany. Reasons for these different prices include country-specific tax rates and duties, currency fluctuations, manufacturer policy or personal sales targets, a weaker demand situation or poor purchasing power – it would be hard to sell a vehicle to private customers in Romania, for example, at a “German price”. In addition, we regularly negotiate large purchase quantities and thus benefit from volume discounts that we can pass on to you.

EU new cars – are there any differences? How does a new EU car differ from a German vehicle? An EU vehicle or a re-import cannot be recognized immediately. The biggest difference is probably within the equipment and the marketing of the equipment lines. The manufacturers react to the demand requirements in the target markets for which the vehicles are intended, and accordingly the equipment there could differ from the German equipment. One example could be the seat heating, which is rarely found in the standard equipment in southern countries, for example Spain, and in Germany is standard in almost every upscale equipment line. On the other hand, it can happen that the equipment lines of EU new vehicles contain equipment details as standard that the manufacturers would like to sell optionally for a lot of money due to the demand situation in Germany. In these cases, you benefit from higher quality equipment compared to a German vehicle. The phrase that a new EU vehicle is generally poorly equipped is no longer appropriate today.
